APPROVAL OF AGENDA  
It was moved by Vice Chair Goltara, seconded by Commissioner Gavitt to approve  
the Agenda for April 29, 2024. The motion carried by the following vote:

ADMINISTRATIVE UPDATE  
Librarian II, Laura Davis, spoke about the history of the Library and a recent memory sharing  
contest that patrons participated in. She also showed some historical photos and artifacts.  
Kevin Coon, President of the Murrieta Public Library Foundation, spoke about the Foundation  
and it's upcoming fundraising campaign kickoff for the Children's Area expansion.  
Library Manager, Melvin Racelis, gave an update on Library Services which included  
information on the Summer Reading Challenge, the Lunch at the Library program, the  
EmPOWERing project, the Touch-A-Truck event, the Expansion and staffing.

CONSENT CALENDAR - APPROVAL OF 1 ITEM  
Vice Chair Goltara requested a correction to the February 12, 2024 Minutes clarifying that he  
was not absent as noted for the Approval of the December 18, 2023 Minutes.  
It was moved by Vice Chair Goltara, seconded by Commissioner Gavitt to approve  
Consent Calendar Item No 1 as corrected. The motion carried by the following vote:

Murrieta Public Library Statistical Report 2024

Commissioners reviewed the Statistical Report, there were no questions from the  
Commissioners and no public comments. Report was received and filed.  
Draft Strategic Plan 2024 Review

Commissioners reviewed the Draft Strategic Plan 2024, there were no questions from  
the Commissioners and no public comments.  
Action: It was moved by Vice Chair Goltara, seconded by Commissioner Hicks to  
recommend the Draft Strategic Plan 2024 for final approval by City  
Administration and City Council. The motion carried by the following vote:

COMMISSION MEMBER ANNOUNCEMENTS  
Commissioner Gavitt spoke about the upcoming Murrieta Public Library Foundation fundraiser  
and she will be sharing details with others as information becomes available.  
Vice Chair Goltara thanked everyone for everything they do.  
Chair Meeker agreed with Vice Chair Goltara's sentiment.
