Approve the agreements with High Density Inc. and Busy Bee Electrical for the remodeling of the locker rooms at the Murrieta Police Department; and
Authorize the City Manager to approve purchase orders and all related documents up to an additional 15% contingency above each contract's not-to-exceed Contract Sum, if needed.

PRIOR ACTION/VOTE
On June 4, 2024, the City Council adopted Joint Resolution No. 24-4745, approving the Fiscal Year 2024/25 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) budget and approving the Fiscal Years 2024/25 to 2028/29 Capital Improvement Plan (Vote: 5-0).

BACKGROUND
The Murrieta Police Station was built in 2002 and featured a men's locker room comprised of 80 24" wide by 24" deep by 72" high metal lockers and a women's locker room that contained 15 lockers with the same dimensions. In 2019, with the significant expansion of the department's workforce from 35 officers and 20 professional staff members to 93 officers and 44 support staff personnel, a locker room renovation was authorized and completed, which increased the number of lockers to 96 in the men's locker room and 23 in the women's locker room.
Currently, the Murrieta Police Department has an authorized staffing level of 114 sworn officers. Considering the organization's future hiring forecast based on anticipated population growth of the City and the steady increase of police dispatchers and professional staff members, the Department's workforce is anticipated to surpass 180 employees.
