RECOMMENDATION
recommendation
Award the construction contract for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2022/23 Pedestrian Safety Enhancement Project, Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) No. 13044, and the FY 2023/24 Pedestrian Safety Enhancement Project, CIP No. 13046, to LC Paving & Sealing, Inc., in the amount of $907,067.75;

Authorize a fifteen percent (15%) construction contingency of $136,060.16;

Amend the CIP Budget for FY 2024/25, and the FY 2024/25 to 2028/29 CIP to establish appropriation as described in the fiscal impact statement; and

Authorize the City Engineer to approve contract change orders not to exceed fifteen percent (15%) of the contract amount.

PRIOR ACTION/VOTE
On December 7, 2021, the City Council approved Resolution No. 21-4502, authorizing the allocation of Community Development Block Grant funds for FY 2022/23, which included the funding of Pedestrian Safety Enhancements Project FY 2022/23, CIP No. 13044, and authorized the City Manager to execute the required supplemental agreements with the County of Riverside (Vote 5-0).

On November 15, 2022, the City Council approved Resolution No. 22-4626, authorizing the allocation of Community Development Block Grant funds for FY 2023/24, which included the funding of Pedestrian Safety Enhancements Project FY 2023/24 CIP No. 13046 and authorized the City Manager to execute the required supplemental agreements with the County of Riverside (Vote 4-0).
