Accept donations from the Friends of the Murrieta Library in the amount of $24,000; and
Authorize the City Manager to amend the Fiscal Year 2023/24 Operating Budget.

BACKGROUND
In July 2023, the Murrieta Public Library received $21,000 from the Friends of the Murrieta Library (Friends), based on a request for funding to assist with the cost of museum passes for the Library collection and supplies for various Library programs and the Seed Library (Attachment 1). The Friends donated an additional $3,000 in July 2023 to assist with funding for sustainability and preschool programs.
The total donation amount from the Friends this Fiscal Year is $24,000. The Adopted budget was established at $38,000. Therefore, the Operating Budget will need to be reduced to match the actual donation amount by $14,000.
FISCAL IMPACT
Upon acceptance of the Friends’ donation, the City Manager will be authorized to amend the Fiscal Year 2023/24 Operating Budget to reduce the revenue budget under account 3110050-47701 by $14,000 down to $24,000 and increase the expenditure appropriation under account 3115900-63360 to match the received revenue amount of $24,000.
