ABSTRACT
The City of Murrieta's current resolution authorizing the City Manager to apply for CalRecycle grants is about to expire. Approval of a new Resolution will extend this authorization for five (5) years, ensuring the City of Murrieta remains eligible for future grant funding.

Adopt Resolution No. 26-4910 entitled: A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Murrieta, California, Authorizing Submittal of Application(s) for all CalRecycle Grants for which City of Murrieta is Eligible.

PRIOR ACTION/VOTE
On March 2, 2021, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 21-4369, authorizing submittal of applications for all CalRecycle grants for which the City of Murrieta is eligible (Vote 4-0).

STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT
The City Council's goal of maintaining a high-performing organization that values fiscal sustainability, transparency, accountability, and organizational efficiency is supported by maintaining the City of Murrieta's authorization to pursue eligible CalRecycle funding opportunities. This action is consistent with the City Departments - Top Projects List in the City Manager section, which identifies continued implementation of CalRecycle requirements as an administrative priority.

DISCUSSION
The City of Murrieta's (City) current resolution authorizing the submittal of grant applications to the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) is set to expire.
