CITY COUNCIL GOAL
Foster and promote an engaged, connected and caring community.
BACKGROUND
In 2023, the City of Murrieta (City) began publishing a magazine for the community to be more informed. This magazine is mailed to every City resident. The previous Public Information Officer searched and received quotes from Westamerica Communications, ACP Publications and Marketing (ACP), and EPIC Advertising. Westamerica Communications printed the first magazine. In September of 2023, the City entered into an agreement with ACP to print and distribute the second magazine, determining that the combination of cost and quality would be a great fit for the City. The original agreement with ACP had a not-to-exceed amount of $74,500. Staff would like to extend the agreement for another two years to September 10, 2026, and increase the not to exceed amount to $285,000. The requested increase will cover an additional two years of printing and distribution of the magazine and will incorporate the cost of postage, which was previously paid separately.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding for the printing of the Murrieta Magazine in Fiscal Year 2024/25 is available in General Ledger Accounts 1111600-62960 for $75,000 and 1101600-62960 for $30,000. Funding for Fiscal Year 2025/26 will be included in the upcoming Biennial Budget.
