PRIOR ACTION/VOTE
On November 17, 2009, the City Council adopted Ordinance 429-09 approving an update to the City Public Works Standard Drawings.

DISCUSSION
The City Public Works Standard Drawings were first adopted in 1992, with the next major update occurring in 1998. The addition of a Rural Road Standard Drawing was made in 2002, then updated in 2005. This was followed by another major update to the Standard Drawings in 2009. The Standard Drawings provide the street, drainage, and traffic details and standards used for design and construction of improvements within the City. The need for revisions comes from new technologies, changes in construction methods, and new regulatory requirements. The current revisions to the Standards Drawings are to eliminate, add, and modify standards to correct deficiencies or meet new requirements.
Ordinance No. 429-09 also authorized the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to prepare future changes to the City Public Works Standard Drawings and present to City Council for approval by Resolution.
The current revisions are limited to the following Standard Drawings:
* Deletions
o 114 - Arterial (Mountain) Highway.
* Modifications
o 116 - Roadway Design Requirements
o 619 - Residential Lighting
o 620 - Arterial Highway Lighting
* Additions
o 620C - LS-2B Streetlight Connection Detail
