ABSTRACT
Staff has deemed construction of the Fire Station 2 Phase 1 Emergency Showers and Restroom Renovation Project (Project), CIP No. 21038, to be substantially complete and recommends moving forward with recording a formal Notice of Completion for the Project with the City Clerk.
RECOMMENDATION

Accept the improvements for the Fire Station 2 Phase 1 Emergency Showers and Restroom Renovation Project, Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) No. 21038, as complete;
Authorize the City Clerk to record a Notice of Completion; and
Authorize the final payment to the Contractor of owed retention and release bonds in accordance with State law and City ordinance.

PRIOR ACTION/VOTE
On June 3, 2025, City Council approved Resolution No. 25-4836, approving the Capital Improvement Plan Budget for Fiscal Year 2025/26, and the Fiscal Years 2025/26 to 2029/30 Capital Improvement Plan, which included the Fire Station 2 Improvements Project, CIP No. 21038 (Vote: 5-0).
On December 2, 2025, City Council adopted Resolution No. 25-4898, declaring an emergency condition for the Fire Station 2 Showers and Restroom and approving the execution of a Public Works Contract for the restoration of showers and restroom facilities at Murrieta Fire and Rescue Station 2 without notice for bids pursuant to California Public Contracts Code Sections 1102, 20168, and 22050 (Vote: 5-0).
On January 20, 2026, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 26-4904, terminating the Emergency Declaration in connection with the restoration of showers and restroom facilities at Murrieta Fire and Rescue Station 2 (Vote: 5-0).
