RECOMMENDATION
recommendation
Authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with G/M Business Interiors, Inc. for the purchase and installation of workstation furniture systems;

Appropriate an expenditure budget into Fund 411 as defined below; and

Authorize the City Manager to approve purchase orders up to an additional 15%, if needed.

BACKGROUND
On August 20, 2024, the City Council approved changing three existing Police Corporal positions into one Sergeant and two Officer positions as part of the Fiscal Year 2024/25 budget update. This Sergeant will work in the Detective Bureau (DB), where there is currently no workspace for an additional person. Currently, one Lieutenant and one Sergeant are housed in two separate offices within the DB. The attached quote from G/M Business Interiors, Inc. (G/M) is for services to remove the modular desk from the Lieutenant's office and place two workstations within that same space for the two Sergeants. The Lieutenant will then move into the office that the one Sergeant previously occupied.

The City's purchasing policy allows for procuring goods and services through cooperative purchasing agreements per Murrieta Municipal Code Section 3.08.295, which states the City "may buy directly from a vendor at a price established by another public agency when the other public agency has made its purchase in a competitive manner."
