BACKGROUND
Special Events

* On Saturday and Sunday, April 5 and April 6, 2025, the 20th Tour de Murrieta rolled into town. Cyclists from all over the world enjoyed the two day sanctioned USA Cycling event.
* On Saturday, April 19, 2025, the City of Murrieta held the Eggstravaganza and Rec Expo at Town Square Park for approximately 3,000 attendees. There were food vendors, recreation vendors, and photos with the Easter Bunny along with egg hunts for the kids! A great time was had by all.

Senior Center

* On Tuesday, March 4, a local nursing student, April Koopman hosted a talk on how to detect signs of a stroke.
* On Wednesday, March 5, Navy Federal Credit Union hosted a fraud prevention talk for the seniors.
* On Thursday, March 6, the Senior Center continued its series on Self-Defense and Awareness. This class is free for the seniors and typically sees an average of 20 seniors attending on a regular basis.
* The VA has been having a table set in the lobby on the second Thursday of the month. This is a time for seniors who need assistance with their Veterans Benefits.
* On Monday, March 17, the Senior Center had a green party during lunch with green treats, green punch, and prizes that were all lucky or green themed. The Senior Center also hosted St. Patrick's Day trivia for the seniors to test their skills.
* Feeding America continues to grow and is held on the fourth Tuesday of the month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. They continue to serve over 300 in the community.
