CITY COUNCIL GOAL

Plan, program and create infrastructure development.

BACKGROUND

In 2006, SCC/Murrieta Valley, LLC granted the City a portion of Lot 4 of Tract Map 38228 along Baxter Road near the intersection of the future Warm Springs Parkway. The City utilized a portion of this property to develop Fire Station No. 4. The remainder of the property has been left undeveloped for the future expansion of Warm Springs Parkway.

Discovery Village is a development south of Baxter Road and between Whitewood Road and Antelope Road. The development is conditioned to construct Warm Springs Parkway south of Baxter Road through the project site, including the portion of the City-owned property. A right-of-way easement across the City’s property is necessary to allow for the construction of the roadway. The mechanism to facilitate this is for the City to process a Quit Claim deed to itself which will dedicate the necessary right-of-way easement.

FISCAL IMPACT

None.
