RECOMMENDATION
recommendation
Accept the Public Improvements in Parcel Map 5730, located at the northeast corner of Washington Avenue and Nutmeg Street;

Authorize City Engineer to release ninety percent (90%) of the related security bonds in place; and

Direct the Municipal Services Department to perform continued maintenance of the aforementioned public improvements in conformance with the City of Murrieta's maintenance standard.

DISCUSSION
On August 30, 2023, the City of Murrieta (City) entered into an agreement with Nutmeg/Washington Development, LP, to construct certain public improvements within Parcel Map (PM) 5730. PM 5730 is a 210-unit multi-family residential development on 14.45 gross acres located at the northeast corner of Washington Avenue and Nutmeg Street.

The public improvements within PM 5730, including street paving, curb and gutter, sidewalks, drive approaches, and a storm drain system, have now been completed. The improvements were inspected by qualified City personnel within the Department of Public Works/Engineering under the direction of the City Engineer, who has determined that the public improvements are satisfactory and have been completed in compliance with applicable City standards and regulations.

It is in the City's best interest to maintain the public improvements through regular upkeep in conformance with City maintenance standards. Therefore, staff recommends that the City Council direct the Municipal Services Department to provide continued maintenance of the aforementioned public improvements.
