RECOMMENDATION

Award a consultant services agreement to Willdan Engineering for as-needed fire inspection and plan review services;
Approve the three-year agreement in the amount of $240,000 per fiscal year for a total not to exceed $720,000; and
Authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement.

On June 6, 2023, the Board of Directors of the Murrieta Fire District adopted Resolution No. 23-4671, approving the District's Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2023/24 and 2024/25

BACKGROUND
The Murrieta Fire & Rescue Community Risk Reduction Division issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) in May 2024 for consulting services to retain qualified consultants to provide on-call, as-needed fire inspection and plan review services for compliance with the adopted version of the California Fire Code and all other State mandated ordinances and codes, including local amendments. The City does not have plans to retain an in-house Fire Plans Examiner for the immediate future and, therefore, requires an outside consultant to provide these services.
The Fire Department's RFQ was posted on PlanetBids and the City's website. The Community Risk Reduction Division received four (4) proposals from the following firms:
* BPR Consulting Group;
* Bureau Veritas;
* CSG Consultants; and
* Dennis Grub & Associates (a Willdan Engineering Company).
