DISCUSSION
California Government Code Section 37354 authorizes the City Council to accept gifts made to the City of Murrieta. The Murrieta Public Library receives various donations throughout the year to support special events, programming, and capital improvement projects. There is one current donation to be accepted for the Children's Library Expansion Project:

The mission of the Friends of the Murrieta Library is to support the Murrieta Public Library through fundraising, advocacy, and volunteerism, and to promote awareness of and support for the Library.
