ABSTRACT
This report is a follow-up to a request made by Council Member Dr. Lisa DeForest at the March 3, 2026, City Council meeting to bring an item back for future consideration by the full City Council to consider making a financial contribution to the Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) Foundation in honor of the upcoming retirement of Superintendent/President Dr. Roger Schultz. The consensus of the City Council was to bring this item back for discussion and consideration.

Review the request, discuss, and provide direction to staff; and

If City Council approves a financial contribution to the Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) Foundation, amend the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/26 Operating budget using unassigned fund balance as described in the Fiscal Impact.

DISCUSSION
At the March 3, 2026, City Council meeting, City Council Member Dr. Lisa DeForest requested to bring an item back for consideration by the full City Council for the City to discuss making a financial contribution to the Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) Foundation in honor of the upcoming retirement of Superintendent/President Dr. Roger Schultz in June 2026 after 25 years of service. The MSJC Foundation has launched a Tribute Campaign honoring his leadership and regional impact.
