PRIOR ACTION/VOTE
On September 9, 2024, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 24-4783, approving a Tentative Agreement for a Successor Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Murrieta and the Murrieta Supervisors' Association for the period July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2027 (Vote: 5-0).

BACKGROUND
Most employees of the City of Murrieta (City) are represented by employee organizations and governed by a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City and their representative employee organization. The MOUs set forth compensation rates, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment for those represented employees. Through collective bargaining, the City regularly and routinely negotiates with the respective employee organizations to update those terms and conditions. All such items must be voted on and passed by a majority of the membership of each affected employee organization, known as ratification, and subsequently approved by the City Council before becoming effective.
