Authorize the use of Cooperative Agreement #2018011 to purchase NetMotion Software for virtual private network connections and authorize CDW Government, LLC. to administer the agreement;

Approve the software renewal in the amount of $15,298.98 for Fiscal Year 2024/25; and

Authorize the City Manager to execute the necessary documents.

BACKGROUND
NetMotion software is an enterprise virtual private network (VPN) solution that ensures reliable and secure connections for mobile and remote workers. The City of Murrieta (City) uses NetMotion to give employees who are constantly on the move the ability to seamlessly access applications from anywhere in the field. This includes Police Officers and Code Enforcement Officers who require real-time access to data from mobile devices. The NetMotion system includes a platform that provides the Information Technology (IT) division complete visibility into activity, giving context-aware protection for City resources.

Staff recommends renewing the software through CDW Government LLC (CDW) for one year in the amount of $15,298.98 (Attachment 1). The CDW pricing is available by leveraging a cooperative purchasing agreement led by the City of Mesa, Arizona, using the OMNIA Partners Co-Op program (Attachment 2). Section 3.08.295 of the Municipal Code authorizes the City to join with other public and quasi-public agencies in a cooperative purchasing program for the purchase of supplies, services, and/or equipment from a vendor at a price established by another public agency when the other public agency has made its purchase in a cooperative manner.
