PRIOR ACTION/VOTE
On October 21, 2014, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 14-3308, approving an agreement with Blue Violet Networks for the purchase and implementation services of a new citywide telecommunication system (Vote: 4-0).
CITY COUNCIL GOAL
Maintain a high performing organization that values fiscal sustainability, transparency, accountability and organizational efficiency.
BACKGROUND
Since 2014, the City of Murrieta has had an ongoing agreement with Blue Violet Networks to support and maintain the City’s Mitel-branded telephone system. The current agreement with Blue Violet Networks ends on March 31, 2024.
In anticipation of the contract expiring, the City solicited three informal quotes for telephone support services, and Blue Violet Networks offered the lowest-cost service. Staff recommends entering into an agreement (Attachment 1) with Blue Violet Networks for a period of three years, from March 31, 2024, to March 31, 2027. The coverage includes support and maintenance of the telephone system at all facilities, including City Hall, Library, Police Department, and the Fire stations.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total cost related to this agreement is $56,278.80 for three years. The Technology Services adopted budget for Fiscal Year 2023/24 is $26,400 and $29,040 for Fiscal Year 2024/25. The budget for the third year of the agreement will be included in a future biennial budget.
