body

PRIOR ACTION/VOTE

On June 21, 2022, the City Council approved the Agreement with Yunex, LLC, to provide traffic signal maintenance services (Vote: 5-0).

CITY COUNCIL GOAL

Plan, program and create infrastructure development.

BACKGROUND

On June 21, 2022, the City Council approved an Agreement with Yunex, LLC (Yunex) to provide the City of Murrieta (City) with Traffic Signal Maintenance Services at each City-maintained traffic signal. The Agreement was approved with an annual cap not to exceed the budget amount, which at the time of approval was $270,000.

The City is now in need of additional related services from Yunex. The additional services are measuring the distance of the advance traffic signal loops to the limit lines/crosswalks at each approach to each of the 105 signalized intersections and identifying the number of detector lead-in cables (DLC) for the advance traffic signal loop detectors. This information is necessary for the design plans of the Traffic Signal Adaptive Timing Program Capital Improvement Plan project (CIP No. 13039). The additional services are within the Yunex Agreement's scope; however, the cost will likely exceed the annual cap. Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement (Attachment 1) will increase the cap by $46,720 for the additional services, which will use available funds in CIP No. 13039.

FISCAL IMPACT

Funding is available in the Fiscal Year 2024/25 Capital Improvement Plan budget for the Traffic Signal Adaptive Timing Program project, CIP No. 13039.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

None.
