DISCUSSION

On September 12, 2023, the City entered into an agreement with CRP/WWG/Brandywine Murrieta Storage Owner, LLC for the construction of public improvements associated with Map Book 8/359, Parcel Lot 191. The project, titled Storquest, is a 135,971-square-foot self-storage facility, consisting of three stories, an on-site office, lobby, associated landscaping, and parking on 2.67 net acres, located at the southeast corner of Date Street and Delhaven Street at the terminus of Date Street (APN: 913-210-042). Required public improvements include street paving, curb and gutter, sidewalks, drive approaches, and storm drain infrastructure serving the development. Construction of these improvements has now been completed. Staff from the Department of Public Works/Engineering inspected the improvements under the direction of the City Engineer and determined the work was completed in accordance with the approved plans and applicable city standards.

Acceptance of the improvements by the City Council will require the City to assume responsibility for ongoing maintenance. Consistent with City procedures, ninety percent (90%) of the improvement security bonds may be released upon acceptance, while the remaining security will be retained during the one-year maintenance period.
