CITY COUNCIL GOAL
Plan, program and create infrastructure development.
BACKGROUND
The Murrieta Hot Springs Road Pavement Rehabilitation Project, CIP No. 13047, will rehabilitate the pavement on Murrieta Hot Springs Road from Whitewood Road to Margarita Road. As part of the pavement rehabilitation process, Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) manholes and valve cans need to be adjusted to be even with the new roadway surface.
Staff negotiated a Reimbursement Agreement between the City and EMWD for the City’s contractor to adjust EMWD’s facilities during the City’s construction activities. The Agreement before the City Council today allows for up to $62,700 in facility adjustment expenses to be paid by EMWD. Staff recommends that the Capital Improvement Plan Budget be amended to include an appropriation of these funds into CIP Project No. 13047. The City will invoice EMWD for reimbursement of the funds at the conclusion of the Murrieta Hot Springs Road Pavement Rehabilitation Project CIP 13047.
FISCAL IMPACT
Staff recommends that the City Council establish a revenue budget for EMWD Reimbursement Funds in the amount of $62,700 and establish an expenditure appropriation into CIP 13047. Funds shall be allocated into Reimbursement Agreement Fund 319 (Revenue Code 3190060-42224 13047319-42224, Expenditure Code 3197500-70000 13047319-500).
