DISCUSSION
On May 27, 2024, the City of Murrieta (City) entered into an agreement with Murrieta II Multifamily, LLC to construct certain public improvements within Parcel Map (PM) 38185. PM 38185 is a subdivision of 27 multiple-story buildings, including 330 apartment dwelling units and 153 condominium dwelling units, as well as a recreation center and on-site amenities located south of Clinton Keith Road and east of Whitewood Road.
The public improvements within PM 38185, including street paving, curb and gutter, sidewalks, drive approaches, and a storm drain system, have now been completed. The improvements were inspected by qualified City personnel within the Department of Public Works/Engineering under the direction of the City Engineer, who has determined that the public improvements are satisfactory and have been completed in compliance with applicable City standards and regulations.
It is in the City’s best interest to maintain the public improvements through regular upkeep in conformance with City maintenance standards. Therefore, staff recommends that the City Council request the Municipal Services Department to provide continued maintenance of the aforementioned public improvements.
FISCAL IMPACT
The City will be responsible for maintaining the public improvements on an ongoing basis. The annual cost is covered in the Municipal Services Maintenance Operating Budget.
